Tiny Home with Waterwheel

Tiny Home with Waterwheel

This tiny home with waterwheel is a hybrid prototype that uses two sources of clean energy (where “clean” means having zero impact on the environment, and zero CO2 emissions during energy production). The two sources are: Sun (as most common residential and off-grid solutions), and Water. This second source is collected under the form of rainwater and properly channeled towards a Waterwheel.

How does the whole thing work? How is power generated?

During rainy days, Potential Energy is then converted into Kinetic Energy and finally Mechanical Energy, being the last step of the whole chain to put a low-RPM permanent magnet generator in motion, hereby producing electricity during those rainy days where solar panels cannot guarantee enough charge. Simply speaking: the house is a fully energy-independent system.

What’s the roof of the tiny home made of? Tin or tiles?

Despite the humble nature of the project, particular care has been put into choosing the type of roof. Tin would have surely cut costs and installation times, but the warmth and the solidity of a tile made of terracotta is something that makes a real home standing out from being just a hut. This translates into a more energy-efficient environment and, of course, a deeper sense of “home”: a warm and nice good looking tiny home with waterwheel!
